Welcome to Season 2, Episode 51! In today’s In Case You Missed It (ICYMI) Encore Episode, we dig back to Season 1, Episode 4 on the life of Larry Kwong, the first person to break the color barrier in the National Hockey League. Nicknamed The China Clipper and King Kwong, he hasn’t gotten nearly enough recognition for his many accomplishments. For example, we think he should be in the Hockey Hall of Fame, and there are others who believe it too. We began this episode with an apology to KoRoot for messing up their name last episode. And we closed the episode with a segment on the origin of describing Asians as “yellow.” To read more about Larry Kwong, check out King Kwong: Larry Kwong, The China Clipper Who Broke the NHL Colour Barrier by Paula Johanson.
